Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Must pass a security background check and fingerprinting check completed by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as a condition of employment with the California Department of Technology (CDT)/ Office of Information Security (OIS).

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience within the last ten (10) years performing data analysis, design, configuration, testing, and implementation, with at least three (3) years in a lead role.

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years' experience analyzing data and situations, identifying and solving problems, and developing effective solutions, with at least three (3) years in a lead role.

  • Must have at least a bachelor's degree in an IT related or engineering field from an accredited college or university

    Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of business analysis, testing, training, and organizational change management (OCM) methodologies and best practices.

  • Ability to write objectives, mid-level data requirements, and detailed data requirements.

  • Ability to effectively deliver project assignments on time and with quality.

  • Ability to architect as-is data flows.

  • Ability to document a future architecture and entity relationship diagram.

  • Understanding of the principles, practices, and trends related to information security and information technology.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative and beneficial relationships on behalf of CDT with stakeholders, customers, and vendors.

    PROJECT TASKS/DELIVERABLES: The Data Analyst manages data migration planning, development, and testing. The Data Analyst provides technical expertise and leadership to ensure successful delivery of data mapping, data conversion, data transformation, data migration processes, and the success of data migration from legacy and existing ancillary systems into a new solution.

  • Execute data conversion and migration tasks and develop deliverables.

  • Define data cleanup approach.

  • Provide updates to data migration schedule and activity status updates.

  • Develop, test, and troubleshoot data migration code and APIs.

  • Support data migration test planning and execution.

  • Identify solutions to data migration problems and issues.

  • Identify data migration risks and issues.

  • Collaborate with Technical Lead.

  • Develop data model.

  • Provide knowledge transfer.

  • Develop rollout checklists and procedures.

  • Perform troubleshooting of the solution.

  • Assist in data migration activities.

  • Assist in configuration activities.

  • Configure APIs for entities.

  • Create and log defects.

  • Provide testing support (secondary)

  • Conduct OCM activities.
