Vectrus Maintenance Control Specialist in Marshall Islands

Overview

This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP

As part of the GCSS-Army team, the GCSS-Army Maintenance Control Specialist is responsible for managing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks and PM System for assigned U.S. Army Vessels; and the oil analysis program for assigned vessels and equipment. The GCSS-Army Maintenance Control Specialist will provide GCSS-Army support for all sections of LCV Kwajalein as part of the GCSS-Army team.

Responsibilities

This position description is subject to change at any time as needed to meet the requirements of the program or company.

  • Will work as part of the centralized LC-V GCSS- Army team supporting all departments across the organization.

  • Manages receipt, control, and processing of all GCSS-A work orders.

  • Collects and analyzes data necessary to manage Maintenance Department resources.

  • Coordination of all facets of maintenance and material management systems. Responsible for the operation and management of the Maintenance Data systems, such as G-Army and Maximo.

  • Processes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities (PMS, CMS, inspections).

  • Manages the oil analysis program for all assigned vessels, equipment, and shops.

  • Accurately maintains vessel maintenance files.

  • Procures parts, materials and supplies for vessels and shops.

  • Enters, tracks, and reconciles purchase requisitions.

  • Prepares appropriate shipping and transportation forms for Purchase Requisitions and Repair and Return Requisitions.

  • Manages Tool Room, to include tool issues, receipts, tool inventories, and records

  • Maintains inspection and certification records for all Marine department lifting equipment and rigging devices.

  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Must have certification in GCSS-A Plant Maintenance/Unit Supply.

  • Must be able to obtain a CAC Card

  • Must be able to obtain a Host Country Driver's License

  • Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of GCSS-Army experience

  • Solid background in automated data process system input and Field/Sustainment level maintenance.

  • Skills:

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of GCSS-Army operations.

  • Strong computer skills including word processing, database utilization and excel programming.

  • Strong written and oral communication.

  • Effective interpersonal skills; the ability to maintain good working relationships with a multi-cultural, multidisciplinary staff, Military officials, other departments and agencies, and other contract personnel.

  • Expert written and oral communications, must have high level of proficiency in the use of MS office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related applications

  • Must have technical skills in the development and maintenance of quality programs with a strong customer orientation and focus

  • Working Conditions:

  • Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 120 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, dry, duty, desert environment with average temperatures of 30 degrees in the winter and 130 degrees in the summer months).

  • Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.

  • Physical Requirements:

  • Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Work may require heavy lifting, stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for exposure to physical, chemical, or biological agents.

  • Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.

  • Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
