About The Role
The Electrician specializes in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial buildings. The main role is to ensure that the electrical infrastructure in commercial establishments functions efficiently and safely. They will handle tasks such as installing and connecting wiring, outlets, switches, lighting fixtures, and circuit breakers. Commercial electricians also perform electrical solving and diagnostics to identify and resolve issues. They are responsible for reading and interpreting blueprints and electrical diagrams to plan and implement electrical installations. Additionally, they adhering to safety protocols and electrical codes to guarantee the compliance and integrity of the electrical systems.
What You’ll Do
Operates, inspects, and maintains mechanical and electrical equipment in assigned facilities for optimal efficiency
Ensures equipment is maintained safely and minimizes downtime through proactive testing and scheduled maintenance
Complies with applicable codes, regulations, and safety directives
Troubleshoots and resolves electrical wiring/circuitry problems and installs/repairs electrical equipment
Uses electrical test equipment to test and measure electrical equipment
Installs Direct Digital Control (DDC) systems and performs system validation and commissioning
Performs repairs, emergency, and preventive maintenance, maintaining records as the need arises
Responds quickly to emergencies and provides technical mentorship/training to coworkers
What You’ll Need
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of seven years proven experience as a licensed electrician
Completion of a formal apprenticeship program preferred
Prior experience with DDC and EMS systems preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Knowledge of financial terms, ability to calculate intermediate figures and conduct basic financial analysis
Proficient in using computer systems and Microsoft Office Outlook
Physical requirements include stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying heavy loads
