About the role:

The Assistant Brand Manager, Brand Experience Team participates in planning and leads the execution of product-centered marketing plans for Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop Business. This includes project management of new product development, category growth, advertising and promotion, event marketing, and business analysis.

The Assistant Brand Manager, Brand Experience Team assists the Global Brand Manager with the Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop business (200+ locations). This key position’s responsibilities include forging strong cross-functional relationships internally and with Ben & Jerry’s US franchise network, Franchise Advisory Council, and company-owned stores.

Who you are & what you’ll do:

  • Participates in planning and leads the execution of all Scoop Shop marketing plans/programs for the domestic business that fulfill marketing strategies, support the company's social mission and meet financial objectives for sales, gross margin and profitability.

  • Analyze Ben & Jerry’s scoop shop performance versus the competitive marketplace. Based on this analysis, create programs, identify products, and help build go-to-market strategies and recommendations to maximize the brand’s potential.

  • Recommend new products, line extensions, and marketing programs that build brand equity and fulfill marketing and financial objectives. Assess the needs, opportunities, and risks associated with these initiatives through research and feasibility analysis.

  • Collaborate with Integrated Marketing and Brand teams to develop effective and compelling marketing programs that support and extend brand equity, leverage learning, and meet stated marketing, business, and financial objectives.

  • Exhibit commitment to the brand's social mission and Marketing's vital role in delivering all three elements of Ben & Jerry's three-part mission statement. Work with the Social Mission team to integrate the social mission into individual marketing plans.

  • Identify consumer research needs. Collaborate with CMI in the design and interpretation of consumer research. Use results in planning efforts.

  • Provide business insight to facilitate marketing program/product development through reporting, analyzing, and/or synthesizing syndicated data, competitive intelligence, and consumer research.

  • Work closely with the Company Owned Stores and Operations organization with new product launches, specifically with the development of franchisee-specific communication and training programs that support quality execution, leverage in-market learning, and meet business objectives.

  • Effectively coordinate with business functions (R&D, Design, PR, Finance, Consumer Research, Operations, Legal) and outside vendors by providing product/project objectives, parameters, and ongoing feedback.

  • Develop and refine efficient systems, processes and communication/reporting methods for project management, budgets and marketing programs.

  • Work with Retail Operations to ensure forecasting is updated as applicable for new flavor launches.

  • Provide support to the franchisee network of domestic scoop shops. Effectively handle and delegate franchisee needs within the Brand Experience and Retail Operations team.

  • Develop timelines and coordinate processes that help ensure timely & effective completion of brand experience promotion & new products projects.

  • Lead all communication to franchisee network via the Rolling Cone to alert franchisees to the latest retail marketing programming news and information. Maintain and update system marketing tools to ensure franchisee system has latest marketing materials available.

  • Compile and coordinate all materials associated with each promotion and new product project to ensure accurate archiving and tracking of promotional materials, franchisee feedback & results.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business or the equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

  • 3 years of experience performing marketing or product/brand management. Retail/Food Service marketing experience preferred.

  • 3 year’s experience in managing or operating a QSR/restaurant establishment and understanding of it’s financials

  • Experience leading cross-functional projects, including managing timelines, budgets and stakeholder management

  • Proven ability to be a creative and innovative thinker

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and project management skills

Work environment:

  • Hybrid Office environment based in South Burlington, VT, some repetitive motion required.

  • Travel required approximately 25% of the time.

Pay: The pay range for this position is $68,000 to $102,000. Unilever takes into consideration a wide range of factors that are utilized in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, qualifications and education, and other business and organizational needs.

Bonus: This position is bonus eligible.

Long-Term Incentive (LTI): This position is LTI eligible.
