Amazon Sr. Financial Analyst, Amazon Security Finance in Seattle, Washington

Security is "job zero" at Amazon, by which we mean it’s even more important than any number one priority. Amazon Security Finance is a key strategic partner to senior Security leaders. We help build a strong security culture by owning financial planning, contollership, and reporting to a growing Security business team.

This Sr. Financial Analyst will be an integral part of our Stores, Digital, and Other (SDO) Finance Security team. The scope goes beyond merely planning and reporting the numbers to understanding the underlying trends, driving accuracy in forecasting, surfacing insights, and responding to questions from senior leadership. The successful candidate will be able to interpret financial results and effectively communicate a business narrative.

Key job responsibilities

  • Regular weekly & monthly reporting

  • Month end and quarter end close processes including accruals and reconciliation

  • Partner with business leaders on planning and budget management

  • Deep dive business drivers

  • Ad hoc projects for Security leadership team

About the team

SDO Security Finance team owns all financial planning and reporting for Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) and their security leadership teams. Our team is responsible for several key finance deliverables. We manage:

  • Key month-end and quarter-end processes

  • Planning, including quarterly estimates, the annual operating plan, and the 3-year forecast

  • Headcount, Operating Expenses, and Capital purchase related insights and reporting infrastructure spend

  • Other exciting ad-hoc projects for our Security leadership team

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Seattle, WA, USA

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field

  • 3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SQL

  • General understanding of Accrual Accounting Methodology

  • Excellent Written and Verbal Communication

  • Comfortable dealing with ambiguity

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
