Nordstrom Senior Financial Analyst (Hybrid - Seattle, WA) in Seattle, Washington

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst will be a key owner of our quarterly Board of Director process and is responsible for tracking and understanding our competitive results. Responsibilities will include providing competitive insights for company business reviews, analyzing the retail landscape, maintaining a close partnership with Investor Relations, supporting our quarterly Board of Director and earnings release processes, running a weekly financial forecast and ad-hoc analyses to support finance leadership. This role requires a highly motivated individual with financial planning and analysis experience to join our Finance organization. The successful candidate will be a self-starter that excels in storytelling and attention to detail, while also demonstrating a passion for retail.

A day in the life…

  • Key contributor and process owner for quarterly Board of Director meetings

  • Analyze competitive results and external landscape; partner with Investor Relations team to communicate key storylines across the organization

  • Create executive leadership materials such as board, investor support or recurring leadership meetings

  • Provide regular competitive insights to the organization as part of weekly and monthly business reviews

  • Support company financial results and reporting processes by providing key insights and drivers, including earnings release and close results

  • Own and execute the company weekly forecast and build the storytelling to share the results with finance leaders

  • Perform ad hoc analyses and special projects to support FP&A and finance leadership

  • Develop and maintain strong proactive knowledge of retail and general industry trends, practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business

    You own this if you have…

  • At least 5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience, retail and large organization preferred

  • BA/BS Degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Proven experience in analysis, modeling, and reporting financial performance, with a strong sense of curiosity

  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities and timelines

  • Ability to build strong relationships with peers and senior leadership

  • Excellent computer skills including Excel and PowerPoint, experience with Hyperion-Essbase and Oracle a plus

  • Ability to synthesize and clearly communicate findings in written, verbal and presentation form

    This is a hybrid role ( 3 days in office per week). Candidates must be located in /open to relocation to Seattle

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $80,000-$132,000 annually

This position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
