Job Title: Financial AnalystGrade: 21Salary: $75,245The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a full-time Financial Analyst position.The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH) is one of the world’s oldest and largest public health agencies. It has a single mission: to protect and promote the health of all New Yorkers by working closely with city and state governmental agencies - including the Mayor’s office - and private organizations.The Bureau of Revenue within Finance Division aims to provide timely, accurate and transparent information, analysis, policies, and procedures necessary to plan, allocate and monitor the Department's financial resources. It also ensures efficient capture of revenues due to the Department from a range of government, private and other sources through research, billing, and collection activities. Bureau of Revenue also ensures the Department receives and maximizes their allowable reimbursement from state, federal, and 3rd party funding sources for all Agency expenditures.The chosen candidate must be a proactive and self-motivated individual with the ability to work in teams and in a highly dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and timelines. The chosen candidate must possess excellent communication skills (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills, must be detail-oriented, accurate, and possess good interpretive skills, and must possess a high level of proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Duties and Responsibilities:The Close Out Unit is responsible for the fiscal review and annual fiscal closeout of delegate agency contracts. Duties and responsibilities include:•The Financial Analyst will be responsible for claims verification, contacting delegate agencies, reviewing fiscal documents, and creating finalization documents. •Conduct claims verification of delegate agencies. •Participate in and review the processing of fiscal documents, claims, tax bills, and financial statements; determine costs eligible for reimbursement; post quarterly fiscal reports to contract ledgers and subsidiary ledgers. •Compare budgeted information with prior years and quarterly claims. •Maintain detailed desk audit worksheets for each contract by quarter. •Request supporting documentation for delegate agencies.•Perform year-end finalization process after budget modifications have been submitted.Minimum Qualifications:•A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in accounting; or•A valid New York State Certified Public Accountant license.Preferred Qualifications:•Experience with accounting practices and DOHMH payment and accrual systems and an understanding of the City’s financial management systems and tools.Work Location: 42-09 28th Street, Long Island City, NY 11101Remote Work Policy: DOHMH employee working through RFMH are allowed a Hybrid option post training and onboarding.Sponsorship Policy: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Unfortunately, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time.To Apply: Submit an application through our website at https://rfmh.applicantpro.com/jobs/.
