Essential Job Functions
Design Gas turbine engine externals (manifolds, fuel, lube oil, and air tubing and hoses) based on the end customer's application.
Reverse engineer existing layout and optimize it to meet design and cost criteria.
Perform hand calculations to verify structural integrity for Proof, Burst, Fatigue, and Vibration.
Coordinate with Structural and Design teams for structural analysis and drawings creation.
Create design review pitch and present in design reviews.
Develop standard work process based on the design evolution and lessons learned.
Qualifications
B.S or M.S in Mechanical Engineering.
5 to 8 years of experience in Gas Turbine engine externals design.
Ability to understand operation and functions of the Gas Turbine externals.
Ability to navigate component and assembly drawings and identify parts in a bill of material (BOM).
Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Strong analytical, experimental, statistical aptitude.
Ability to do operations with Microsoft office tools like Excel, PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to be a cross-functional team leader with good interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Substantial amounts of telephone and computer work.
Heavily Regulated Industries with strict adherence to procedures.
Flexibility to meet business deadlines by staying late or arriving early.
Typical 8 hour days plus lunch / 40 hour weeks / core (required) hours are 9 AM to 4 PM
Location: Houston, TX (or remote within USA)
Travel: Minimal < 5%
Compensation type: Salary Exempt with a competitive package dependent on level of experience
