Job Summary:

Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is a leading designer and manufacturer of focal plane arrays and flight-based camera systems supporting a myriad of defense, surveillance, space, and weather tracking applications. RVS is split into two manufacturing operations groups: (1) Focal Plane Operations & (2) Camera & Sensor Packaging. This role is nested within Camera & Sensor Packaging and reports directly to the Associate Director of Materials Planning (SIOP). The prospective hire will supervise a team of 4 – 6 salaried Materials Planning SIOP analysts all of which sit in one of two administration areas at the local Goleta campus.

Responsibilities To Anticipate:

  • Manages a team of 4 – 6 analysts

  • Sets day-to-day operational objectives for direct reports.

  • This is a “working manager” position. Approximately 25% – 45% of weekly work schedule is devoted to report generation, high level analysis, and staff management. Remaining work time will be used to support direct program activities as an independent contributor.

  • Uses MRP system (SAP), UX interface (CMES), Microsoft Suite, and other software applications to analyze data and create reports. Reports may be ad-hoc as requested by manager for publication within and or outside of department.

  • Sets material and assembly priorities with factory management, value stream leads, and program management to ensure adherence to Master Production Schedule (MPS).

  • Assists direct reports in coordinating efforts with quality, manufacturing engineering and other support groups to process discrepant material in a timely fashion.

  • This position does not have budget or P&L accountability, but the prospective hire may assist in managing day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff, purchasing consumables for team)

  • Provides primary input to hiring, firing, promotion, and reward allocations decisions for direct reports.

  • Takes business goals and works with staff to set individual goals that align with overall objectives.

  • Supports multiple (1-2) daily factory tier meetings speaking on behalf of the department.

  • Communicates with parties within and outside of own team on a daily basis.

  • This is an onsite role.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience.

  • Previous management, supervisor, team lead experience.

  • Previous work experience in manufacturing or distribution center environment.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Planning and Production Control.

  • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

The salary range for this role is 70,000 USD - 142,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
