Job Description

This position will be located in the Engineered Packaging Solutions Business Unit.


As the Manufacturing Document Writer, your primary responsibilities will be to gather assembly information from the operators and form work instruction documents that fully describe how to assemble a product. It will be the responsibility of this person, along with the Manufacturing Engineers, to maintain these documents and ensure their accuracy, validity, and completeness. This role will also perform various tasks as assigned by the Manufacturing engineering team which may include 5S, station preparation, and document maintenance.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and edit various standard work instructions.

  • Maintain up-to-date and correct existing work instructions based on operator input and Manuf. Engineer guidance.

  • Work closely with manufacturing personnel to collect data for standard work instructions.

  • Good mechanical aptitude and assembly skills in order to determine optimum methods of assembly with guidance from assemblers and Manufacturing Engineer.

  • Assist with performing 5S functions and general cleanup of assembly lines in order to improve efficiency.

  • Collect cycle times as determined by Manufacturing Engineers.

  • Assist manufacturing engineers with general tasks and documentation upkeep.

  • Ensure all documents are in correct templates and / or formats.

  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements



  • HS Diploma or equivalent

Experience / Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of experience

  • Ability to handle multiple projects at once with steady reporting of progress.

  • Experience in assembly of product a plus.

  • Ability to receive corrective action and guidance for documentation and act upon said input.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and schematics a plus.

  • Ability to calculate time per task based on collected data.

  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Computer skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (advanced Microsoft Word skills a plus)

  • Basic photography skills

  • Experience in Solidworks and AutoCAD a plus

  • Ability to input and manipulate data in excel a plus
