Mazak Corporation CNC Programmer in Florence, Kentucky

Description

Summary: Program, Set-up, and operates CNC machines to perform various functions, such as cutting, drilling, milling, reaming, boring, and broaching on metallic and non-metallic work pieces, utilizing knowledge of machine tool capabilities, machinability of materials, and shop math.

Scope and Responsibilities:

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

* Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

* Interpret blueprints, design programs, and set up machines to produce various components.

* Perform test runs and adjust until the resulting product meets blueprint specifications.

* Adjust programs and settings to optimize production while maintaining quality.

* Select tools required to cut materials and program machines.

* Troubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arise.

* Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programs.

* Set up of parts on pallets, tables, fixturing, to make available to the machining center. Including set up of fixturing, jig bases, etc. to hold parts for machining.

* Program with Mazatrol, EIA/ISO formats.

* Utilize CAM packages for the creation of programs.

* Record results for data collection and ISO documents.

* The use of an overhead crane for most parts will be required to load parts.

Education/Certification:

* High School Diploma or equivalent required

* Vocational school preferred

* Associate's degree is preferred

Skills:

* 3 years' experience with CNC programming

* Experience in operation and setup of CNC machines

* Proficient using Mastercam

* Mazatrol experience is preferred.

* Experience reading blue prints

* Experience understanding what the cutting conditions are and make the necessary adjustments to provide a part in the quickest / safest manner to meet production needs.

* Experience using various gaging instruments such as finger indicators, plunge indicators, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, ring gages, snap gages, tape measure and scales.

* Experience with fixture set up and work holding techniques.
