Description

Client seeking interim support as an Accounting Manager in Colma, CA. This role is a contract position and may go for 3 months with possible extension. Please apply today for consideration!

How you can contribute:

• Coordinate, organize, and oversee Finance division operations, including managing accounts payable, payroll, accounts receivable, and cash receipts.

• Develop and implement the Finance division's work plan, assigning tasks, projects, and programs, monitoring workflow, and evaluating work quality and procedures.

• Maintain financial records, including journals and ledgers, supervise General Ledger maintenance, and oversee recording of revenue, encumbrances, and disbursements.

• Administer accounting and budget control systems to ensure compliance with accounting procedures, laws, and regulations, including preparing and managing the division's budget.

• Participate in personnel management activities, including recommending appointments, training, motivating, and evaluating employees, as well as establishing and monitoring performance objectives.

• Assist in managing Capital Improvement Program, including controlling project expenditures, recommending financing methods, and preparing project reports.

• Prepare technical and administrative reports, as well as written correspondence, and establish and monitor internal controls to ensure accounting standards are met.

• Coordinate annual audit and serve as a liaison with external auditors, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and overseeing financial software system maintenance and upgrades.

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, provide financial information to stakeholders, and perform financial studies and analytical reports.

• Attend seminars and workshops related to job duties, serve as acting department head

• Perform any other related duties as assigned.

  Requirements

• US GAAP. Municipal accounting is beneficial

• Experience with complex financial statements, reports, and analyses

• Bacherlor's degree in accounting or 5+ years of experience in a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager level position
