About this Role

Our purpose for this role at Probst Electric, will be to provide long-range planning, design, and implementation of HR products and services in support of the organization’s operational business objectives in the areas of compensation, benefits, workforce planning, employee relations, labor relations compliance, training, and development.

What You'll Do

  • Implements and updates compensation program; conducts annual salary surveys and develops merit pool (salary budget).

  • Monitors performance evaluation program, and career development.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management and employees on HR issues.

  • Promote a positive work culture and address employee concerns in a fair and timely manner.

  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures.

  • Prepares and maintains the policies and procedures handbook.

  • Administers benefits, claims resolution, change reporting, and annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness and cash flow.

  • Oversee the onboarding and orientation process.

  • Assist the Talent Acquisition team as needed.

  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.

  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports; participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings or seminars as needed.

  • Manage HR projects and initiatives by coordinating and collaborating with others to develop and implement programs and processes to meet business needs.

  • Manage employee life-cycle process across multiple states.

  • Ensure all human resources activities within the businesses supported are untaken ethically and legally in compliance with company policies, procedures, and all related federal, state, and local employment laws while meeting business needs.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the HR team, including setting goals, monitoring performance, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

  • Develop the skills and capabilities of HR staff through coaching, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.

  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws, regulations, and company policies. Stay abreast of changes in employment legislation and update policies and procedures accordingly.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure HR practices are in line with legal requirements.

  • Design and implement performance management systems to ensure clarity of goals, regular feedback, and fair evaluations. Provide coaching and support to managers in conducting performance reviews and developing employee performance improvement plans.

  • TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Percent of time: 10%

What You'll Bring

Required Education and Experience

  • Extensive (7+) years of HR Generalist experience

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes across multiple states.

  • Ability to engage and consult with all levels of management to establish working relationships and partnerships at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong background knowledge in performance management, workforce planning, compensation, benefits, labor law, collective bargaining, and training and development.

  • Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions.

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and presentation skills.

  • Ability to provide oversight to numerous HR projects.

  • Strong consultation skills.

    Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or commensurate experience preferred.

  • Experience using JD Edwards

  • Experience using iCIMS.

  • Union experience preferred.

  • Construction-related background preferred.

    Preferred Licenses/Certifications

  • SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP certification

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly manage multiple employees.
